Dr. La Verne Parker Diggs
Human Resource Executive
La Verne Parker Diggs serves as the Human Resources General Manager for the City of Scottsdale. In this position she is responsible for the executive leadership, direction and management for the Human Resources Department. She has also served the City of Glendale, Arizona as the Director of Human Resources. As the Assistant City Manager for the City of Norfolk, Virginia, La Verne worked closely with the City Manager, in determining organizational direction and ensuring proper execution of the City’s public policies and service delivery.
La Verne has held several executive level positions, including that of Assistant Vice President of Operations for the California State University at Los Angeles and was responsible for providing administrative direction to several departments. At the university level, La Verne held the position of Assistant Professor teaching Leadership Skills, Management, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior and Labor Relations. She has an earned doctorate degree from the School of Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University; a Master’s degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration.
La Verne’s organizational and leadership skills make her a welcome resource to the Board of Director’s of Gompers’ Habilitation Center.
