" Independence supported by
gainful employment is a basic tenet of American culture."
Nationally there are over 12 million Americans
with disabilities. Many of whom have skills and desires to compete
for jobs in the public work place. Gompers' Vocational Services
Program has opened career paths for many disabled individuals who
were once thought to be unemployable.

and supervision than may be provided in the community work place.
As a service company, Gompers' Work Center successfully contracts
with all areas of business and industry to complete quality work
including a variety of assemblies, inspection, reclamation, manufacturing,

positions in business and industry that match the person's needs,
abilities and potential. Staff members analyze the work environment
and task at no cost to the business.
Men and women attending the Work Center Program are evaluated
on a regular basis to ensure assignments to appropriate jobs. Additional
classes and services are prescribed to help individuals increase
and improve their abilities in and out of the work place. Individuals
develop optimal work skills and acquire a basic level of independent
living.
The
Community Placement Services Program is a service for those individuals
who
desire a transition into the
community work place. This Program allows persons with physical,
mental or sensory impairments the chance to choose career options
