GOMPERS DAY TRAINING FOR ADULTS PROGRAM (DTA)
Gompers Day Training for Adults program is built around one premise: Client empowerment. Individuals age 18 and older are encouraged to express themselves while being supported by a staff that looks to assist them in reaching their greatest potential. DTA focuses on three main areas: Life skills, social and community interaction and volunteerism. If they choose, individuals in Gompers DTA program may also gain their first exposure to work through pre-vocational classes. In addition, DTA is heavily involved in Special Olympics where all individuals are encouraged to try out for one of our many teams.

Gompers DTA program provides needed services to people with developmental disabilities that focus on individualized training in the areas of communication, self-care, community awareness, social development, life skills and money management. The program also encourages participation and integration in a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the community including DUETS, the Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum, St. Mary's Food Bank, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Adopt a Street. All told, Gompers clients and staff volunteer more than 500 hours a month at these and a myriad of other wonderful organizations who understand the inherent value in all individuals - with or without disabilities.
